SIRIS – Swiss national registry for hip and knee replacement

This nationwide mandatory registry for hip and knee replacement in Switzerland began in September 2012. Mandated by the National Association for Quality Control in Hospitals and Clinics in Switzerland (ANQ), SIRIS was designed as an implant registry for arthroplasty surgery in Switzerland.

SIRIS is primarily a quality assurance instrument for participating health service providers and a post-market surveillance system for the orthopaedic industry. It provides data for assessing the long-term results of implants and can act as an early warning system for problems with products.
